Welcome to your guide for completing your self-evaluation in SuperEval. Follow these steps to reflect on your performance, collaborate with the school board and align with district objectives. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Annual Goals and Competency Selection
In this initial step, the superintendent and school board work together to set annual goals tailored to district growth and improvement.
- Navigate to your Dashboard
- Select the Evaluation dropdown and select My Self-Evaluation
- Set your Due Dates for each step
- Click on Annual Goals and Competency Selection
- Navigate to Step 1.a
- Click Add to add additional goals
- For each goal, add a title and description of the goal
- Click on Annual Goal Templates to select from some template goals
- Select Alignment to associate this goal with a competency
- Navigate to Step 1.b
- Use the checkboxes to deselect which domains and competencies you do not want to be evaluated on
- Navigate to Step 1.c
- Use the toggles to adjust the desired weight for each domain that you are being evaluated on
- Navigate back to the Dashboard
- Ensure there is mutual agreement with the board on the goals and components then click Mark Complete to advance to your self-evaluation to Step 2
Step 2: Superintendent Self-Evaluation
The superintendent conducts a self-evaluation, reflecting on their performance and compiling supporting evidence throughout the year.
- Navigate to your Dashboard
- Click on Superintendent Self-Evaluation
- Throughout the year, continue building your self-review by assessing each individual competency and annual goal
- Provide a Rating
- Submit text evidence in My Reflections and Comments
- Submit tangible evidence (documents, images, websites, etc.) in Supporting Evidence
- Once you are ready to submit your self-evaluation to the board, navigate back to the Dashboard and click on Submit To Board Review
Step 3: Board Review and Evaluation of the Superintendent
Now, the school board reviews the superintendent's self-evaluation and conducts an independent evaluation.
- No action is needed from the superintendent during this step
Step 4: Consolidate Evaluation Data From the Board
SuperEval automatically combines evaluations from all board members into one consolidated evaluation with the superintendents evaluation, while allowing the board president to make necessary changes to the final evaluation.

Step 5: Proposed Board Evaluation: Final Review and Sign Off
The superintendent and school board president conduct a final review, and both parties provide digital signatures to complete the evaluation. The evaluation is stored in a digital archive which can be accessed at any time.
- Navigate to your Dashboard
- Click on Proposed Board Evaluation: Final Review and Sign Off
- Click on dropdown titles Superintendent Comparison with the Board Consolidated Evaluation Data to view a comparison table to see where the superIntendent and board aligned on each competency and goal
- Click on View Board Evaluation Feedback to view the final proposed evaluation, including both superintendent and board ratings and comments
- Click Sign to electronically sign the evaluation (the board president will not be able to sign the evaluation until after the superintendent has done so)
