Mid-year reviews in SuperEval provide an opportunity for any evaluation to reflect on progress prior to the year-end evaluation. While this feature is available for all evaluations (it must be enabled), the process is slightly different for a Superintendent evaluation, or other board-led evaluations. We have a separate article for using the Mid-Year Review In School Board Evaluations. For Principals, School Leaders and all Staff evaluations, use the steps below to complete your evaluation and include a mid-year review.

Submitting Your Evaluation for Mid-Year Review
Once your self-evaluation is fully complete, your evaluation will be ready for a mid-year evaluation at your convenience. This does not mean that the Evaluation Progress must be at 100%. Regardless of the completion percentage displayed - If you are finished with your responses, you can perform the mid-year review.
- Navigate to My Self-Evaluation from the dropdown menu on your Dashboard. 
- Click on the Mid-Year Evaluation tab in the Evaluation Progress section. 
- 
Change the Current Mid-Year Status radio button to In-Progress. - This will indicate to your Primary Evaluator that your Self-Evaluation is complete and you are ready for your mid-year review. 
 
- Fill out the My Mid-Year Comments section with your thoughts and reflections from the mid-point of the school year. This is just a text-based reflection, there are no evaluation responses or evidence submission. 
- Review your Primary Evaluator's mid-year reflection comments, if they have already been submitted. 
- When you are satisfied with your Mid-Year Feedback, toggle the status radio button to Ready for Review. 
Submitting The Mid-Year Review (For Evaluators)
Evaluators will complete their feedback after the principal or staff member has marked their evaluation as In Progress.
- Navigate to your evaluatee's evaluation using the dropdown menu on your Dashboard. 
- 
Click into Step 2.b: Principal Reviewer's Evaluation. - Click into your evaluation of the employee. 
 
- Click on the Mid-Year Evaluation tab in the Evaluation Progress section. 
- Change the Current Mid-Year Status radio button to In-Progress. 
- Fill out the My Mid-Year Comments section with your thoughts and reflections from the mid-point of the school year. This is just a text-based reflection, there are no evaluation responses or evidence submission. 
- Review the Evaluatee's mid-year reflection comments, if they have already been submitted. 
- When finished, change the Current Mid-Year Status radio button to Ready for Review, if you will be meeting with the evaluatee and having a discussion at this time. Change it to Completed if no such meeting will take place. 
Closing Out The Mid-Year Review Process
After both the evaluatee and evaluator have completed their portions, the mid-year review can be finalized and transitioned to the next phase.
- Confirm that both statuses — evaluatee (In Progress) and evaluator (Mid-Year Review Complete) — are displayed. 
- Navigate to your Dashboard. 
- Click Submit To Year-End Review to close out the mid-year phase. 
- Confirm this by selecting Yes, Submit To A Year-End Evaluation in the pop up window. 
- The evaluation will now advance to the year-end phase. The self-evaluation for the employee will be closed and the primary evaluator will be able to continue further with their own evaluation until they advance to the next step.
